We recap our Saturday at Stan Lee’s Comikaze in Downtown Los Angeles, talk about Bojack Horseman, Rachel gushes about Myst and other adventure games, and we discuss other topics of nerd news for the week.
We had an amazing time at Stan Lee’s Comikaze this year. Such wonderful cosplay on display at the show including ours (oh how humble we are haha). We love getting to see such great skills out on display. Congratulations to our friend Justin Davidson for winning one of the awards for best costume during the National Cosplay Championship held there for his Hiccup costume from How to Train Your Dragon. Here’s a look at some of the best sights we saw during our day!
You can see the full album on our Facebook page
we also go to go a bit more in-depth with one of our favorite shows “Bojack Horseman”. The creators of the show, Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Lisa Hanawalt, and Mike Hollingsworth were there to answer a lot of questions about the thinking behind the creation of the show.
Rachel absolutely loves the entire Myst series and has been devoting her time to watching playthroughs of Myst IV and V on YouTube. Cyan’s newest game “Obduction” is going to be ready in the Spring of 2016 so keep a look out. You can sign up for a newsletter about the game here on Cyan’s site.
As we announced on the podcast, we are going to be selling a limited edition print at DesignerCon in Pasadena, CA on Nov 21st-22nd. The print design (inspired by our Pixar Up cosplay) was created by Fannie Lam (@graymako on Instagram). She is an amazing graphic designer and budding toy customizer.
The print will be 5″x7″, limited to an edition of 50 at a price of $10. The print will be available first at the Broke Piggy booth #723 at DesignerCon. Half of the proceeds of this print will be going towards the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, so please come and purchase and support a worthy cause. Any leftovers will be available after DesignerCon through purchase from us directly. Please email or message us for details.
We will also be doing another run of preorders from now until the first week of December of our Podcast T-shirts with our classic logo. They will be available in either blue or black in a unisex American Apparel tee. Tees will be $30 each, and a portion of the proceeds will also go to AFSP. Please let us know if you are interested in a shirt for yourself or someone else you know!
Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback by messaging us on Facebook or emailing us at contact@thenerdlys.com.
If you would like to support our podcast, please shop on amazon with our link. It won’t cost you any extra, and we’ll get a small amount to help with our costs.
We’d really appreciate if you leave feedback for our little show on iTunes or Stitcher also. Thanks!
